DPD Ireland is a leader in next-day parcel delivery throughout the country, operating with 35 regional collection and delivery depots and a state-of-the-art central sorting hub in Athlone, Co. Westmeath.
We are seeking applications for Drivers to join our Linehaul team in Athlone on a fixed-term contract of 6 months. The role involves a shift rotation cycle focused on the collection and delivery of freight to and from our 35 depots across Ireland, and directly from customer sites. This role is crucial to meeting the business's operational needs efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and deliver freight to any DPD depot across Ireland.
- Load and unload freight at DPD depots.
- Collect freight from customer sites.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and build excellent customer relationships.
- Ensure vehicle maintenance and perform daily walk-around checks on the vehicle and load.
- Adhere to safe driving practices and road rules.
- Comply fully with all RSA requirements.
Requirements:
- Must possess a full clean EC driving license.
- Preferably, two years of Artic driving experience in a similar role.
- Experience with multi-drop deliveries is advantageous.
- Tail lift and pallet truck experience is also beneficial.
- Good knowledge of Irish roads.
- Willingness to drive anywhere in Ireland/Northern Ireland and flexibility is essential.
- Valid CPC with all modules completed and up to date.
- A Digital Tachograph card is required.
- Highly motivated individual with the ability to meet set deadlines.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Team player with the ability to work independently.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Strong written, oral, and communication skills.
- Flexibility regarding working hours, including weekends, is essential.
- Willingness to work across night and day operations.
